Who can use Sauntered

You must be 13 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Sauntered only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

Your account

Keep your sign-in secure, whether that is your Apple ID, your email or your phone number. You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else is using it, email support@sauntered.com.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Acceptable use

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. This covers everything other people can see: your name, handle and profile photo, collection names, descriptions and covers, and the places and words you add to shared collections. Do not use Sauntered for:

• Harassment, bullying or threats.
• Hate: attacking or demeaning people for who they are.
• Sexual content.
• Impersonating another person or organization.
• Spam, scams or misleading content.
• Anything illegal, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Breaking, overloading, scraping or getting around the security of the service.

Reporting

To report a person or a shared collection, use Report in the app: it is in the ••• menu on a person’s profile, and in a shared collection’s menu. You can also email support@sauntered.com. We act on reports within 24 hours. We may remove content and ban the users who posted it.

You can also block someone from their profile. They can then no longer find you, send you friend requests or add you to collections, and neither of you sees the other’s places in collections you share. Unblocking brings those places back.

Your content

You own what you save and write in Sauntered. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process and display it, only as needed to run and protect Sauntered for you and for the people you share with. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in backups kept for a limited time or records the law requires us to keep.

Your places are private by default. When you share a collection, the people you share it with can see it, and anyone with a share link can see what that link shows. Only add photos and words you have the right to share.

Place details and photos

Place details such as names, addresses, hours and photos come from Google. Photos belong to their authors. Place details can be out of date or wrong, so check before you go. Google’s content is also subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

AI features

Some features use AI services: recognizing a place from a photo, finding places from a description, searching in your own words and making collection covers. They are optional. The app asks before the first one runs, and you can turn them off any time in Edit profile. Short place summaries are written by AI from public place details. AI can get things wrong. The AI providers are Anthropic (Claude) and, for collection covers, OpenAI. The privacy policy says what each one receives.

Assistant connectors

You can connect Sauntered to an AI assistant such as Claude. The assistant can then read your saved places and, with the permissions you grant it, save places, rate them and add them to collections. The assistant is a separate service with its own terms, and we are not responsible for what it does with what it reads. Connecting is optional.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Sauntered running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, pause or stop features, or the whole service.

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app where appropriate. If you keep using Sauntered after a change, you accept the new terms.

Disclaimers

Sauntered is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond what these terms say, including about the accuracy of place details or that it will suit a particular purpose. The places you save are run by other people. We are not responsible for your visits, bookings or what happens there.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about Sauntered is limited to the greater of US$50 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law says cannot be limited.

If someone makes a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

If you got Sauntered from the App Store

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Sauntered or its content, for supporting it, or for any claim about it, including product, legal-compliance and intellectual-property claims. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app. If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund what you paid for it. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo and not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries.

Ending your use

You can stop using Sauntered and delete your account any time: in the app, Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if the law requires it. The parts of these terms that by their nature should last, such as the disclaimers and limits of liability, still apply after that.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, United States, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
